Terms of Service

Gen Finance is a personal-finance overview tool: you enter your own numbers, and it shows you where you stand. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you create an account. Plain language throughout, none of it is meant to trick you.

Who you are dealing with

Gen Finance (gen-finance.app) is operated by Jakub Benický, Slovakia. Contact: support@gen-finance.net. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC as merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy is the seller of the subscription, issues your invoices and handles VAT.

Price and trial

Using the app requires a subscription: €8 per month or €80 per year, VAT included, the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Every subscription starts with a 14-day free trial: your card is saved at checkout and first charged only when the trial ends. Cancel before then and it is never charged. We will not raise the price of a running subscription without telling you by email first.

Renewal and cancelling

Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, matching what you chose, until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings → Manage subscription (or by emailing us); it takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, and access continues until then. No cancellation fee, no questions asked.

Your 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of subscribing, without giving a reason, email support@gen-finance.net or use Lemon Squeezy’s contact on your receipt, stating that you withdraw. By starting the trial you expressly request that the service begin immediately during the withdrawal period. In practice our trial makes this generous: nothing is charged in the first 14 days anyway, and if a first charge does slip inside your withdrawal window, we refund it in full. Beyond the statutory right, the same applies to any charge you believe was a mistake, write within 14 days of the charge and we will sort out a refund.

Your data

Your numbers are yours. Export everything as one file, or delete your account and all of its data permanently, both live in Settings and work whether or not you subscribe. How we handle data is in the privacy policy.

What Gen is not

Gen does not connect to your bank, does not give financial, investment or tax advice, and its projections are arithmetic on the numbers you entered, not predictions or recommendations. Decisions you make with them are your own.

The free calculators

The calculators at gen-finance.app/calculators are free and need no account. They are arithmetic on the numbers you type and the published rules and figures named on each page; they are estimates, not advice, and your payslip, contract or statement is always the truth. To use them you give a first name and an email address, and in doing so you ask us to send you Gen Finance news and offers; you can stop those at any time with the link in every email, and the calculators stay open. Unlocking is not a subscription and costs nothing. We may change, add or withdraw a calculator.

Fair use

One account per person. Don’t abuse, probe, disrupt or resell the service, and don’t use it for anything unlawful. We can suspend accounts that do, with notice and a chance to respond, except where the abuse is ongoing.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Gen available and your data safe, but like any online service we cannot promise zero interruptions. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes and law

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you before the change takes effect; if you disagree, you can cancel and keep access for the time already paid. These terms are governed by Slovak law, without taking away consumer protections you enjoy in your own country of residence. Disputes can go to the courts, or you can contact your local consumer protection or alternative dispute resolution body.
